Croydon is South London’s largest town and a commercial centre, which is the major feature. From Charing Cross it is 15.3 kilometres away and it is London’s metropolitan city too and it also denominates the London Plan. The natural corridor that is in between London and the south coast of England is where the city is situated. History says that Croydon during the era of the Norman Conquest was a part of Surrey, when there was also a church with a mill and also inhabitants of about 365. With Brighton becoming the resort for fashion in the year of 1780s there was a major role of this city to cause a halt of the stage coaches. During the 19th century it was the pulpit city of transport links with that of London.
